Berlinale Talents is a talent development programme that explores the how and why of movie making. Since 2003, it has grown to become a one-of-a-kind forum for film professionals and cinema lovers alike, featuring public talks, discipline-specific workshops, project development Labs and networking events. While the Berlinale sections showcase films in all their facets and the European Film Market is the festival's most vibrant business hub, the focus of Berlinale Talents is creative people and how they see the world through a different lens.

This year there are 13 film professionals based in the UK invited to take part in the Berlinale Talents and offered support by the British Council. These professionals are: Zeb Achonu, Francesca Sofia Allegra, Alfie Barker, Gaumaya Gurung, Shivani Hassard, Lawrence Lek, Tamas A Meder, Louise Palmkvist Hansen, Cici Peng, Rhea Storr, Maryam Tafakory (withdrew participation due to Strike Germany action), Fatima Wardy and Eli Zuzovsky.

We have conducted interviews with some of the participating UK film professionals! Find out about how this year’s Berlinale Talents theme resonates with their work, what being part of the Berlinale Talents means to them, and more…

We are delighted to be able to support this unique and irreplaceable programme and wish all the participants a fruitful exchange.
