If you are an English language teacher looking for professional development, but are too busy to travel to attend a programme at a fixed time and date, our online courses might be just the thing for you.

Online courses

We offer a number of short courses free for anyone to sign up to. The courses run on the TeachingEnglish website typically over a period of four weeks and include a range of topics from assessing learners to planning a great lesson. Study at your own pace and communicate with other teachers from all over the world. British Council educators will answer your questions on all of the courses.

Webinars

We regularly host webinars given by expert speakers in the field of English Language Teaching. These are completely free and have a registration capacity of 1,000 teachers and certificates for all attendees. Recordings of previous webinars in the series are also available in the archive.
