The British artist Anne Hardy (*1970 in St. Albans, GB) composes photographs of three-dimensional objects which she constructs especially for these photos and then destroys. In this way each photograph represents the image of a no longer existing reference. At first glance, the rooms captured in the photos resemble the real rooms of her walk-in sculptures, yet without being identical with the photographic illusion. The sculptures' promise to document the photographed objects is negated, just as the contrast between reality and image is rejected, since the real sculptural room is also artificial and is merely subject to another artificial order.
