2020 - Nicola Ganter

Nicola is a PhD researcher from Leibniz Universität Hannover and our 2020 FameLab representative for Germany. Nicola Ganter convinced the jury and the audience with her presentation on “Pimp My Part”. In her contribution, she uses an empty jam jar, a tin of Smarties and a chocolate Easter bunny to explain how particle damping can be integrated into components using selective laser beam melting in additive manufacturing. 2019 - Thora Schubert

Thora Schubert studies georesources at RWTH Aachen. She won the 2019 German FameLab final with her science talk on managing geo-ressources and made it to the Cheltenham international final! Thora is also an experienced science and poetry slammer. Have a look at her winning prasentation here.  

2018 - Dr. Veli Vural Uslu

Dr. Veli Vural Uslu not only won FameLab Germany in 2018, he also convinced the jury at the international FameLab final in Cheltenham, where he won the second place. Veli, who is currently working as a postdoc at the plant physiology department at the University of Heidelberg, explained why viruses can be good for us. You can now rewatch his presentation online!

2017 - Olga Sin

Olga Sin, a researcher at Max Planck Institute for Molecular Biomedicine, won FameLab Germany 2017.  Watch her presentation to find out how a brainless worm can be the answer to cure brain diseases.

Hanzey Yasar wins FameLab Germany 2017

2016 - Hanzey Yasar

Hanzey is working on a strategy to allow painless vaccination by using small invisible particles (nanocarrier-systems) - removing the need for a syringe and needle. Watch her winning presentation.
