Some people work for money. Others work to feel fulfilled. Some don’t work at all. For 20 years, London performance artist Katy Baird has been on the frontlines of the service industry, serving up everything from Whoppers to phone sex. WORKSHY is an intimate, autobiographical, humorous, turbulent and slightly adult look at a precarious existence between art and wage labor.

Katy Baird

Katy Baird (London) is one of the most important British performance artists, a radical activist, co-founder of the United Freedom Force collective and curator of the Steakhouse Live Festival. Her work has been presented at festivals like the Live Art Festival, the SPILL International Festival of Performance, as well as at squat parties, raves and in underground clubs all over Britain.

“Art at Work” focus at Kampnagel

The “Art at Work” focus at Kampnagel invites artists, scientists and politicians to discuss the relation between performance and work, between capital and creativity, and between art and value.
