Werkleitz festival .move ON presents media art from Canada, Australia and Europe

A total of 16 artists and collectives from the grant programme European Media Artists in Residence Exchange (EMARE) 2014/15 are taking part. The work was made at the ten network host institutions in Australia, Canada and Europe (Foundation for Art and Creative Technology in Liverpool amongst them) and most are being shown for the first time in Germany.

Exhibition

In their new work they are predominantly concerned with the media analysis of current technologies and the assessment of their social relevance, with virtual reality and fiction and with altered audio-visual narrative structures. Objects of contemplation are afro-futurism, asylum, urban life, alternative future scenarios and bubbles.

Conference

Accompanying the exhibition there will be a three days conference on the presence and future of moving images with renowned representatives of the Cinema, TV, Internet and Art industries.

British participants include Prof. Mike Stubbs, Dr. Nicole Wolf und Dr. Susan Schuppli as lecturers in the conference and London based filmmaker Cristina Picchi with her new EMARE production Champ de possibles in the exhibition.
