IELTS Invigilator Vacancies
The British Council Germany is currently recruiting suitably qualified individuals to join our freelance team of local invigilators for IELTS testing in several cities.

Role overview
IELTS is the International English Language Testing System. It is designed to assess the English language ability of those who intend to study or work where English is the language of communication. It is jointly owned by the British Council, IDP: IELTS Australia and Cambridge Assessment English.
Applicants must
- Be eligible to work in the Germany
- Be based in cities where we have vacancies for invigilation staff
- Demonstrate good levels of spoken and written English
- Be effective team-workers with good organisational skill
- Have initiative and be able to work under pressure and to deadlines.
- Have a strong understanding of the importance of cultural awareness in a multi-cultural environment
- Be willing to support people who are disabled (temporarily or long-term) or need specific arrangements to take our exams
- Must possess strong attention to detail and a process-oriented mindset to ensure compliance

Important: Please note that invigilation is on a freelance basis only. If you are a non-EU citizen you may need to check with the German authorities beforehand if you are allowed to work as a freelancer (“freiberufliche Tätigkeit gestattet”).
Interview & Training
Should your written application meet our requirements, you will be invited to take part in an interview via MS Teams. If you are successful in the interview, you will receive training before you start working as an invigilator on IELTS test days.
